ABOUT THE ARTIST Zimbabwean born and bred artist Philippa-Alys (Pippa) Browne has recently moved to Shelbyville. She studied Art and Education at the University of Natal in South Africa and has been actively involved in teaching art and holding workshops in Zimbabwe, England, Norway and, recently, the United States. Philippa's art work has been exhibited in countries worldwide including Italy, France, the United Kingdom and Slovakia. In Zimbabwe her work has been accepted for a number of National Exhibitions where she has received awards of merit. In 1995 Philippa started illustrating children's books. Since then she has written and illustrated five books. The artist has also painted a number of murals and has an large collection of non-illustrative paintings awaiting exhibition.
